In 2005 NGC Product Solutions introduced Polymer Technologies products into the Western Canadian industrial market place.

Methods of Controlling Noise

Absorption
Dissipating airborne sound energy

Barrier
A wall which stops airborne sound energy

Damping
Attenuating structural borne sound energy by use of visco-elastic polymers

Gasketing
Sealing the area between two irregular surfaces to prevent two surfaces from touching and vibrating

Isolation
Preventing vibration energy created by rotating or unbalanced devices from being transmitted throughout the structure to which they are attached

Products

Polydamp Acoustical Foam (PAF)
PAF is a sound absorbing composite comprised of a polyurethane foam core with a choice of optional film facings and a pressure sensitive adhesive backing. PAF functions effectively in harsh environments.

Polydamp Embossed Foam (PEF)
PEF’s decorative embossed surface is well suited in applications requiring high frequency sound absorption.

Polydamp Acoustical Barriers (PAB)
PAB has a loaded vinyl barrier layer, a foam decoupling layer and an optional pressure sensitive adhesive backing. A variety of optional decorative or functional surfaces are available.

Polydamp Extensional Damping Pad (EDP)
EDP is a lightweight, self-adhevsive composite with a viscoelastic surface. EDP reduces noisy vibration in thin metal or plastic panels. EDP may be bonded to PAF for a dual-purpose composite.

Polydamp Foil Dampers (PFD)
PFD composites are designed on the constrained layer principle. They are constructed of lightweight aluminum bonded to a viscoelastic pressure sensitive adhesive backing. PFD functions effectively under a broad range of temperatures and frequencies.

Polydamp Noiseless Metal (PNM)
PNM comprises two layers of any type metal separated by a thin, viscoelastic polymer.
